Hybrid Cars: Pros & Cons

With price of fossil fuels shooting through the roof, people are becoming more and more concerned about the money they will be spending to run their Automobiles.

An electric vehicle is powered by batteries and propelled by electric motors. Hybrid cars are basically cars that combine electric energy and gasoline energy. The two work in conjunction to minimize fuel loss, but they still require gasoline.

Hybrid cars are considered to be the automobile of tomorrow. Due to the benefits it can provide, you will definitely want to get one for your own. Actually, more and more people are actually considering selling their conventional car and purchase a hybrid car.

]]>

More & more people are thinking of the long term benefits that a hybrid car has to offer. A hybrid car can cut fuel consumption to half in comparison to conventional cars. With a hybrid car, you can obtain a lot more than 60 miles to the gallon of gasoline.

Automakers and advocates for the blind have now agreed to back new rules setting a minimum for sounds from Hybrid vehicles. The reason. Hybrid cars are quieter than Conventional vehicles when in motion and there are concerns that pedestrians who are blind will not hear them approaching .

As stated above, hybrid cars run on two engines. One is the standard engine which you will find in conventional cars and the other is a electric motor and batteries. By combining both of these to power your car, it will run cleaner and far more efficient than conventional cars. These are the main benefits of hybrid cars.

Now the Cons. If a hybrid car gets involved in an accident it is going to be difficult for you as well as the rescuers to help you get out of your car because of the dangers of electrocution as Hybrid cars carry large amounts of voltage. Another disadvantage of hybrid cars could be that the cost is more than conventional cars of similar range. However, the hybrid car can save lots of money in a long term.

These are the Pros and Cons of hybrid cars. There are more advantages than disadvantages. Therefore, it is worth considering to buy a hybrid car.

20:23 —> now I am FOR SURE going to do some components in kick panel pods! I always liked the idea of the kick panel location because you are equalizing the distance is much as u possibly can, so you have better imaging/soundstage and no speakers in yo earss.

So Thanks for settling that one for me! let me know what yall think..

tuning/timing/delaying bunch of bull,, all u gota do is this: mount your coaxials(the mid speakers with built in tweeters) on to ur seats on the sides of the head rests. u would need 2(a left and a right) for each seated person,, u will hear perfectly tuned and balanced sound the way its meant to sound,, make a small box with shorter height on one side so speakers aim up and wrap boxes with same interior to match,, aim speakers directly towards the ears,, im tellin u,, every1 in the car has the

@First2ner So what happens is you “hear” the sound coming from either behind your head or in front of your face. In most cases you want your music to sound like its coming from in front of you. How far is again a SQ thing. Some people don’t care. I’m not an expert by any means, so I couldn’t say how far far in front or behind or any of that. I just understand how sound works.

@harrisric128 what would be difference between those two positions?
and how far in front of your face, like really aim the speaker to each ear in normal driving position, or what?

I just learned so much that i got pissed off because, now I’m pretty sure I screwed up my last install in my car. Alpine SPR-17S, in front door panel of a 2000 lincoln ls, mids replaced old speaker pods, and tweeters went above door locks. damn. looks like i’ll have to figure something out. but thanks guys, keep the vidz coming!

i guess to help yall out, the triangle thing ur talking about on teh door is called a “sail panel”

thats where i have my tweets but i wanna acually mount them in the door some place but i dunno where to put em, i had em wired active and time alignment was a bitch to setup, i wished i would have watched this while i had it like that

would a 3way help better the midrange up front while running active? cause my 2way polk db6500′s just didn’t mold into each other like i would have hoped

Why hasn’t Spoon gotten new glasses yet? Doug, you should start accepting donations on your website to buy Spoon a new pair of glasses.

  24. harrisric128 on August 17th, 2011 7:40 am

@First2ner You want the sound waves to cross in front of your face. If you aim the speakers at the respective sides ear the waves would cross behind your head. Its just a matter of sound quality.
